Jaymor Industries design and manufacture electronics for motion control and industrial use, which can be utilised in a wide range of applications.

Software is developed in-house by Jaymor technicians to suit each custom application, although in many cases the standard software packages available are flexible enough to suit the task.

As electronics are designed and manufactured by Jaymor, the company is able to maintain good stock levels of all electronic components. This gives Jaymor the ability to provide timely servicing of their electronics without the need to dispatch to external manufacturers, which can add weeks to the turn-around time.

Jaymor Industries is able to offer its customers a full electronic design solution. From schematic design and prototyping to full production, Jaymor is able to draw apon an extensive network of suppliers in order to complete the project to the highest standard.

If the system is to be microcontroller based, Jaymor is also able to offer a custom programming service. Our engineers have many years of experience in 'C' programming for embedded applications and are able to provide a total software solution including PC applications if necessary.

Ethernet based controller networking has become more and more commonplace in industry. Jaymor has developed custom protocols to enable simple microcontroller based systems to be networked and provide remote control, diagnostics or (with the addition of a PC) data tracking and a Graphical User Interface for the system.

Jaymor Industries Ltd also produce a variety of high-brightness 7-segment LED displays. These displays are directly compatible with the MSR controller, allowing for visual feedback of the system status.

The displays are written to over a standard I2C serial communications bus with up to 16 digits per display. They are powered from a separate 5 VDC signal, and as such provide a simple solution for many custom electronic manufacturers.

Many control applications require the monitoring of position feedback. This may be to enable a "closed control loop", or to simply give an operator live indication of machine status. Jaymor has a large amount of experience with various position feedback devices, developed over years of service to the sawmilling industry with dimension control products.

The signals recieved from any feedback device can be divided into two main categories - Analog or Digital. While Analog feedback devices are generally less expensive than their digital equivalent, they can display inconsistancies with temperature change and may be more susceptible to interference. Jaymor recommends the use of digital position feedback where repeatability and reliability are significant concerns. In most applications it is necessary to provide "absolute position feedback", so that there is no chance of the controlled axis becoming lost after an unexpected event such as power loss.

Feedback devices are available in many different physical configurations, each one suited to their own applications. Depending on the type of positional feedback required, Jaymor may recommend either an angular encoder solution, or one of several linear position options. Some commonly implemented feedback solutions include:

• Incremental encoder feedback for angular displacement.
• Absolute encoder feedback for angular displacement.
• Analog encoder feedback for angular displacement.
• Draw-wire options for any of the above encoders to enable linear positional feedback.
• Profile magnetostrictive transducers for linear displacement (either analog or digital).
• Rod-style magnetostrictive transducers for mounting inside of a hydraulic cylinder (either analog or digital).
